Towards a Sustainable Future
FLAG – Friends of Langkawi Geopark is a non‐profit community‐based organisation established in December 2013. The Registrar of Societies in Malaysia, formally endorsed FLAG in January 2014. It aspires to promote and popularise the concept of Geoparks in promoting sustainability of natural and cultural resource heritage through conservation, education and socioeconomic enhancement. By doing so, it hopes to retain the global Geopark status within the ranks of the Global Geoparks Network under UNESCO.

A 3.5km trail by the sea from Kampung Tanjung Peluru to Bukit Tanjung Rami, an icon for Geo tourism in Pulau Tuba, showcasing three beach types namely a pebble beach, a rock-bed beach and a sandy beach. It is an ideal location for tourism recreational activities as fishing, swimming, picnics, jogging, cycling, trekking ATVs etc. FLAG undertook to maintain this area, particularly the trail.
